12 Nov Open for Business: Opportunities are popping up in Belair-Edison
In October, friends and neighbors joined together to enjoy our Main Street Renaissance Project, which featured a retail pop-up shop walking tour. Local artist and designer Paige Orpin transformed 6 vacant commercial spaces along the 3200-3500 blocks of Belair Road into a bookstore, coffee shop, yoga studio, vintage clothing store, and record shop using staged furniture, lighting, and décor.
The spaces are now available for lease and provide an affordable, turnkey solution to making your business or side hustle a reality. Located along the Main Street corridor, these retail spaces offer access to our walkable, high trafficked Belair-Edison community. Many of our local businesses mention the proximity to major thoroughfares, public transportation, and on-street metered parking to be real assets to their businesses.
We are currently offering both monthly and weekend-only lease terms – perfect for boutique retail or professional services. We are also encouraging young entrepreneurs and Belair-Edison residents to apply! Residents will enjoy discounted lease pricing since, one of our main goals at Belair-Edison Neighborhoods, Inc. (BENI) is to build a thriving community that residents and businesses want to invest in.
The 6 vacant commercial spaces range from 785 square feet to 4,000 square feet, offering a convenient and low-risk opportunity to test your product or service and gain insights into local consumer trends.
Our community managers at BENI can help you navigate available incentives, including HUBZone, Enterprise Zone, and Tax Credits. In addition, Belair-Edison is a designated Baltimore City Main Street Community and provides such business support to our merchants as funding for promotional events and marketing guidance.
