15 Nov Belair-Edison Goes KaBOOM! With a New Playground
200+ volunteers helped the community of Belair-Edison build a KaBOOM! Playground in Herring Run Park, at the corner of Shannon Drive and Brehms Lane.
The design was based on drawings by children who live in the community at a series of sessions over the summer. The building days too place in October over three days of preparing the site and building out the playground
The build was coordinated largely in part by the Belair-Edison Community Association with help from local residents, community partners and Target employees.
Mayor Stephani Rawlings Blake came out to show her support for the playground as did other notable community leaders. There were arts and crafts for children, a DJ, line dancing, food and more!
The playground has been a big hit with the community and use frequently by area families and children.
