Trash Collection 
When should you put your trash out? You should set out your trash for pick-up on the morning of your collection day by 7 a.m. Putting it out early - even the night before - will offer a feast for rodents, birds, and dogs. Baltimore City offers two trash days per household. In Belair-Edison we have trash collections on Tuesday/Friday and Wednesday/Saturday. Call 410-396-4515 to find out your trash days. 

What should you put your trash in? Every city household is required to have a sufficient number of trash receptacles that are in good condition, water-tight, and have fitting lids. 

 

Recycling Schedule 
Paper - Paper should be put out in paper or blue recycling bags, you may use MARKED containers with no lid in place of bags on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month. Paper includes white/colored paper, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, folders, tab cards, books, catalogs, phone books, envelopes (remove all paper clips and rubber bands)
Bottle and Cans - Bottles and cans ( glass bottles, tin cans, metal cans, plastic bottles with 1 or 2 (remove all caps)collected citywide 2nd and 4th Mondays, if on a holiday then hold until NEXT regularly scheduled recycling day

 

Bulk Trash
In Belair-Edison, your bulk trash day is either the 3rd Monday or the 3rd Tuesday of the month. In order to have your bulk items removed, you must call 410-361-9333 at least 3 business days before your bulk trash day in order to make arrangements to have your items taken or you may schedule an appointment online: https://baltimore.customerservicerequest.org/web_intake_balt/Controller.

Once you have called to make arrangements for bulk trash pick up, set out everything no later than 7:00 a.m. on your bulk trash pickup day. You may leave up to 3 bulk items outside your fence in the alley, and they will be picked up as long as you have called in advance.
What types of items will be collected?
Furniture, appliances, and mattresses. To have tires removed, you must call 410-396-4515 to make arrangements.
What types of items will NOT be collected?
Auto parts, building materials, and hazardous materials.

 
311
Baltimore City's One Call Center, 311 will connect you to a variety of city services.  Please use 311 whenever there is no emergency, but you still need to contact a police officer or other city official.
 

911 
In case of an emergency, dialing 911 will connect you to the police, the fire department, and an ambulance.

City Council
Belair-Edison is located in the 3rd and 13th City Council Districts.  Robert Curran is the councilman for the 3rd District.  Vernon Crider is the councilman for the 13th district.

State Representatives
Belair-Edison is part of the 45th Legislative District.  Our State Delegates are Talmadge Branch, Cheryl D. Glenn, and Hattie N. Harrison.  Our State Senator is Nathaniel J. McFadden. 

 

U.S. Representatives
Belair-Edison is part of the 2nd and 3rd Maryland Congressional Districts.  Our Representatives are Dutch Ruppersberger and John Sarbanes  Our U.S. Senators are Barbara Mikulski and Benjamin Cardin.
